Welcome to the Attitude Magazine Foundation. Of the LGBTQ community, by the LGBTQ community, for the LGBTQ community.
Over nearly 30 years, Attitude has become the world's biggest LGBTQ media brand - across print, digital, online and social media - as well as through headline-grabbing live events. Talk about starry, starry nights…
The UK's best-selling lifestyle magazine for gay men is sold in 31 countries worldwide, including coast-to-coast across the USA. It is also available for download everywhere - including in more than 70 countries and provinces where homosexuality remains outlawed or is effectively banned. Some of those nations continue to enforce the death penalty for consensual same-sex acts between adults.
Having, over the years, raised more than £300,000 for the Elton John Aids Foundation, we decided to branch out and create our own charity: the Attitude Magazine Foundation.
Founded in 2018, the foundation now supports a wide range of causes - of all sizes - that Attitude's own network has encountered. It's our way of giving back to the wider LGBTQ community we serve.
We raised almost £250,000 in our first three years and our founding trustees have already overseen grants and donations totalling more than £180,000 – with money going to causes overseas as well as in the UK.
Your backing in helping us do this vital work is valued beyond words.
We seek to use the power and reach of our platforms to highlight those within the LGBTQ community who need support, and either provide assistance directly or connect them with those best placed to provide it.
Attitude is in continual contact with individuals and organisations that need help so that we can act quickly - but with due diligence - when called upon.

Chairman
Listen to Darren Styles talking about the Foundation.
We are the Attitude Magazine Foundation. Of the LGBTQ community, by the LGBTQ community, for the LGBTQ community.
We work with charities, groups and individuals, with one commitment in mind. And that’s to support our vibrant community by helping members have the opportunity to do amazing things and lead happy and fulfilled lives. At home, at work, and at play.
When Darren became the first gay owner of Attitude, in 2016, he vowed to create a vehicle to give back to the community this award-winning magazine existed to serve. This Foundation honours that commitment, and is both a CSR project for his Stream Publishing enterprise and a passion project. Darren was awarded an OBE for services to charity, diversity and the economy on the Queen’s Birthday Honours list in 2018.
A former model and, latterly, a social media influencer and Attitude’s in-house studio manager, Tom leads the team that – once a potential beneficiary has been identified – spends time alongside or within an organisation to understand it, and see where our efforts might best be applied to maximum effect. He is the link man between our boots on the ground and the more detailed financial due diligence applied elsewhere.
An Operations Director by trade, Nigel runs the live events for which Attitude is famed and which play such a pivotal role in our ongoing fundraising effort. His eye for detail extends to working alongside our Financial Director and offering oversight of the due diligence which ensures every cause we choose to support is properly managed in terms of both the financial model and day-to-day logistics.
